Sophie and Matt Pre Wedding at Cuerden Valley Park
On Saturday 7th May, I joined Sophie and Matt to discuss their wedding day. We talked about all the usual things: timings etc for when they are married in a few week's time at Chipping Village Hall, Lancashire.
It's such a beautiful venue and I can't wait to photograph the wedding there.
Sophie and Matt were up for a pre-wedding shoot so we chose the setting of Cuerden Valley Park near Preston in Lancashire. I was seriously excited because I knew there would be bluebells and other wild flowers to use as stunning details in the photographs.
The plan for the shoot was to combine ambient light photography with some flash photography. Off-camera flash is such a creative tool in achieving striking images so it's too good to ignore. Using this type of flash set-up usually requires a second pair of hands and I was delighted when Sean https://www.facebook.com/seanmcgarryweddingphotography/ was keen to come along to do some shooting a provide some support with the lighting.
We started the shoot with a few quick photographs, using the walled garden as a backdrop and I quickly realised that Sophie and Matt were seriously comfortable in front of the camera! I provided them with the posing instructions and they rocked the poses! So natural, confident and relaxed. This made for some really cool images - so chilled and they looked like professional models - totally 'at one' with the gig!
Well, we did have fun. Now, we can't wait for the big day...
